Annette Risley has been named the Desert Research Institute's Technical Employee of the Year, DRI President Stephen G. Wells announced. The annual award recognizes outstanding contributions to the Institute's overall operations, with the winner selected by an employee committee.
Risley, a DRI employee since 1996, is an electronic publishing technician in DRI's Biological Sciences Center in Reno, and is also secretary to the DRI Faculty Senate. Besides a plaque, a $300 cash award and the admiration of her co-workers, Risley gets a reserved parking space by the front door at DRI for a year.
