
Ms. Hilary Lewis has been appointed to the position of development officer for the Desert Research Institute in southern Nevada. Lewis will work with the DRI Research Foundation to expand the institute's fund raising programs and raise the institute's community profile. The institute is funded primarily by research sponsors and requires philanthropic support to upgrade research equipment, and to support new environmental research initiatives and K-12 programs.
Lewis previously served as a legislative consultant in the Nevada State Health Division and for the Secretary of State's office. She has also worked in Washington, D.C. for members of the Nevada and Wisconsin congressional delegations. A resident of Henderson, she holds a bachelor's degree in international affairs from the University of Nevada, Reno and is working toward a master's degree in public administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
