
Dr. John M. Lewis, a senior research meteorologist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Severe Storms Laboratory, has joined the Desert Research Institute as a long-term visitor, through DRI's Cooperative Institute for Atmospheric Science and Terrestrial Applications.
Lewis has been conducting atmospheric sciences research for 30 years, and his work at DRI will focus on winter weather over the eastern Pacific Ocean and western United States with emphasis on the water supply iin the Sierra Nevada.
