"The Millennium Series," a collection of 17 vibrant original paintings designed to encourage people to ask the question, "What's your choice for the planet?" are on display in the main halls at the Desert Research Institute's Northern Nevada Science Center in Reno.
The paintings, by noted Mexican artist Victor Cauduro Rojas, depict the challenges and opportunities for global environmental stewardship, said DRI President Stephen G. Wells. "The series encourages global stewardship and environmental awareness with the ultimate goal of achieving a sustainable future for all people," said Wells.
The exhibit will be available for public viewing between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, except Memorial Day, through June 26, when it will be put on display in the Richardson Gallery in Reno as part of the area's Uptown Downtown ARTown Festival. DRI's Northern Nevada Science Center is located at 2215 Raggio Parkway in the Dandini Research Park, adjacent to Truckee Meadows Community College.
The Harvey Family Trust, the Global Environment & Technology Foundation, the Richardson Gallery, and Garrett's Frames have underwritten the exhibition of "The Millennium Series" in Mexico and the United States.
