Mrs. Kenda Walters, a six and a half year employee in the Controller's Office of the Desert Research Institute, has been selected as DRI's Technical Employee of the Year 2000, DRI President Stephen G. Wells announced. As financial assistant to the controller, Walters initiates purchase orders and processes payment for research equipment and supplies at DRI.
Besides the recognition from her fellow employees, the award includes a $500 prize and a reserved parking place for one year. Selected by a committee of her fellow technical employees, Walter' nomination cited her success in streamlining and improving DRI's purchasing and bill paying processes and her willingness to take on additional duties as the institute has expanded in recent years.
