WHAT: Unveil new GreenPower solar electric installation at French Ford Middle School in Winnemucca, Nev.
WHERE: 5495 Palisade Drive, Winnemucca, 89445
Directions: From Reno traveling east to Winnemucca on I-80 take Exit #178. At the stop
sign for the off-ramp turn right. Then take the very first left on East Winnmucca Blvd. and pass
under the railroad underpass traveling to Highland Dr (that is .8 of a mile). Turn right on
Highland just before Billingsley Motors. Travel on Highland, passing the Lowry High School
turnoff at Kluncy Canyon Road and continue two more blocks. Palisade Drive is on the left.
Turn left and travel several blocks, and French Ford will be on the left-hand side.
WHEN: Tuesday, Dec. 7 10:30 a.m.
HOW: Brief ceremony with students, faculty, Assemblyman Pete Goicoechea, DRI Research Foundation Trustee and Chair of the GreenPower Committee Jim Kropid and representatives from Sierra Pacific Power Company

BACKGROUND: The French Ford Middle School installation marks the sixth GreenPower installation in the state - the first in a rural area. The GreenPower program is a partnership between the Desert Research Institute, DRI's Research Foundation, Sierra Pacific Power Company and Nevada Power. The program is supported by voluntary customer contributions made by customers of Nevada Power and Sierra Pacific Power Companies through their monthly utility bills. All contributions are 100 percent tax deductible.
