DRI hires Staff Soil Scientist
Juliane Kluck will oversee soils laboratory in Reno
RENO – Juliane Kluck has been hired as the Staff Soil Scientist whose primary responsibility is running the Soil Characterization and Quaternary Pedology Laboratory, at the Desert Research Institute.
“Prior to joining DRI, Julia was an environmental/soil scientist at Synergy Resource Solutions, Inc., in Reno,” said Stephen Wells, DRI President. “Julia is a fine young scientist who has been extensively published and has impressive experience from the standpoint of research in addition to managing people and projects.”
Kluck has 25 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Most recently she has performed extensive and intensive correlations of soil and vegetation reactions to treatments including variations of cropping and grazing practices on three continents.
Kluck earned her doctorate in soil science from the University of Bayreuth in Germany in 2000. She performed her post-doctoral work at the University of Nevada, Reno.
